Heavy footsteps down the avenue
Neon lights and broken rules
A shark is running through the midnight air
Leather jacket, silver tooth glare
People freeze when he hits the street
Heartbeats racing to the pounding beat
He don’t swim, he was born to chase
A shadow moving with a stranger’s face
Run, run, the street shark’s near
You can feel the thunder in your fear
Through the city, through the dark
Everybody hides from the street shark
Run, run, don’t lose your way
He’s tearing through the night like a hurricane
No one knows where he began
Half machine and half wild man
Sirens screaming in the pouring rain
Footprints burning on the pavement lane
He laughs loud underneath the moon
Like chaos is his favorite tune
And when the sunrise hits the sky
He disappears without goodbye
But every night around the block
You hear the ticking of his walk
