The Moon's Solitude

*The Moon's Solitude*

Am E7
Kisses, hugs, and promises of eternal love...
G7 C
Songs, poems, and serenades...
Dm E7
The romance of moonlit nights...
Am E7
All of it contrasts with the moon's solitude
Am
in the dead of night...

Am E7
The same moon that reflects light to lovers
G7 C
is the same one that keeps its face hidden
Dm E7
for a time...
Am E7 Am
New Moon, lonely new moon...

F E7 Am
Hiding away to weep alone
F E7 Am
over what no one saw during the day.
Dm E7
Weeping at the distance
Am
from its great love.

C G7
The sun lights up your face, and you reflect it,
F E7
brightening beaches, fields, streets,
Am
gardens, and woods...
Dm E7
You spend three-quarters of your phases casting a silvery glow,
Am
and one-quarter weeping silently...
